On Tuesday, October 18, the wonderful Patrick Swayze was immortalized in wax at the famous Madame Tussauds in Hollywood, California. I'd love to see it in person because the likeness is incredible. He'd be impressed, just as his widow, Lisa Niemi Swayze, is with the recreation. The image is taken from the Dirty Dancing scene in which Swayze's Johnny Castle character balances across that narrow log.

This site has three terrific videos on the event and I recommend watching all three.
It's been a pleasant and calm Saturday around here. It was actually a little bleary outside, but inside, the holiday movies were playing pretty much all day, with an exception or two.
One of those was watching Powder Blue, a movie I'd never watched before, but since Patrick Swayze was in it, I knew that sooner or later, I'd have to watch. Let's just say it's not his finest movie, but I do understand why he participated in the project. His widow, Lisa, was one of four people honored this week at an AARP function. All are active in some medical concern or another. She was in good company as the other 3 were Tony Danza, Henry Winkler, and Joy Behar.
That's about it for now. I'm off to watch more TV and surf the net some more.
The sunshine has returned, at least for a few days. We've had great weather here in Northern California. I've been enjoying it, especially since my email issues were resolved. It was a scary thing not to be able to reply, forward, or compose email. I'm thankful someone new their stuff and solved the problem for me.
April 8th is the latest episode of Supernatural. I don't watch this series but I will be then because Michael Shanks is guest starring, and he's a big favorite of mine. There's a chance his Hawkman character could recur on Smallville next season, and I'm thrilled about that. Michael's wife, Lexa Doig, is on the new V and while I love to watch Lexa, I just can't convince myself to watch the new updated V.
I just read an interview with Lisa Niemi, the widow of Patrick Swayze. She's hanging in there, but still going through a lot of pain in dealing with the blow in life that Patrick's early death has caused her. She's strong; she'll get through, but right now, those are just words for her. She has a lot of people praying for her, though. She's very much loved, as Patrick still is, too.
My dogs are loving their Kongs. In fact, Kong Classic just came out with a new X-tra large size, and I'm so glad because that's exactly what they need.
Onward to the next post!
This is the Brian Braff photo that was released yesterday after all of those premature death reports of Patrick Swayze and his wife Lisa Niemi. It was taken on May 13 at their ranch in New Mexico. He's still smiling. Granted, he's very thin, but he's doing great. We love you, Patrick!

Tonight, actually in just a few short hours from now, the interview taped a few weeks ago at Rancho Bizarro, Patrick and Lisa Swayze's Los Angeles ranch, airs on ABC. Barbara Walters conducts the interview, and for the first time, fans are going to hear the truth about Patrick's brave fight and how he's already beaten the initial odds.
This interview will be heart-wrenching. I expect a ton of tears and a lot of Kleenex to be used up. From all indications, he's telling the truth, from the gut. We've already learned from the snippets that Patrick is actually dealing with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer, meaning it spread to his liver.
The hour on TV tonight was be difficult. Patrick and Lisa are much-loved. They have a nation of two together that is so amazing. It breaks my heart to think that the time is most likely going to come when, mortally, they won't be together on this Earth.
Patrick continues to have my prayers, as does Lisa. He's beating the odds every day that he gets up and takes a breath. He can beat more odds. He has the strength and the will to do it. I'm realistic, but that does not diminish my hopes that in two years, we'll be talking about many more odds that he's beaten, and in 5 years, even more.
He's a wonderful man, and Lisa is a terrific lady. It hurts to know that one day, Patrick might not be here, but I suggest we live in today, that we cherish the man many of us have meant and care about, as a man, not just as an actor, and that we continue to send up those prayers and good vibes, that we continue to visualize Patrick, healthy and strong, riding his horses and playing with his dogs, and that we just continue to share his passion and hope.
That's what I'm going to try and do.
Patrick's new show, "The Beast", airs on A&E beginning January 15. Previews and trailers are available 'on demand' for those with Comcast service. A&E also has a terrific website for the series, complete with wallpapers, a community board, photo albums, and so much more. They are heavily promoting the series and looking forward to a second season of the new drama.
I'll be watching!
Here it is, the wee hours of the morning, and I'm still up. I've been a night owl my entire life, and here I am again! I've been over at the forum on Cash Cow just chatting with another member. It sure is a fun place.
I'm also watching a show I taped earlier tonight, er last night, called Nashville Star. I like a lot of these reality competition shows. This show has been on TNT for the last few years, but NBC owns it now and has chosen to air it on Network. Billy Ray Cyrus is the host this year. This show never has the same host or set of 3 judges every year. It always changes. Wynonna did it one year, Leann Rimes another. I believe Nancy O'Dell hosted for a year or two before they went to the celebrity singing hosts. It's nowhere close to the success of "American Idol," but it's always been interesting.
Anywho, been sitting here thinking about Patrick Swayze. He's my absolute favorite performer. I've been lucky to meet him a few times. I treasure those moments and conversations. He's such a nice, caring human being. Most everyone is aware that he's fighting Pancreatic Cancer, but he's gonna beat it! Patrick has a tremendous will and strength that comes from within. He really believes that 'pain don't hurt' stuff that 'Dalton' from "Road House" expounds.
Patrick's TV series 'The Beast' has been given the go-ahead by A&E, proof that he is succeeding in his battle. This is his first series since his very early days when he did a short-lived show called "The Renegades," not to be confused with that Lorenzo Lamas thing called just "Renegade." That show was a sort of "The Mod Squad" thing. I actually liked it, but it just didn't do well and only had six airings. I wonder if there are more episodes, never aired, around in some vault somewhere.
I adore Patrick. I was actually a very late comer to the Swayze bandwagon. I didn't see "Dirty Dancing" until the very very very end of its run, when it was at a drive in with two other movies. I liked it, but it didn't knock my socks off at that point. It was years later when I discovered the magic of Patrick. Actually, it was the year my father died, and I think I was searching for something special. I didn't want to like another performer, but "North and South" came on, and I just fell in love with it and his "Orry Main" character. I began researching Patrick and liked what I learned. One thing led to another, and I became a SwayzeManiac.
One of the things I love about the man is how devoted he is to his wife, Lisa Niemi. They just celebrated another wedding anniversary -- 33 years. Together, they have a true nation of two. They really don't need anyone or anything else, and it shines through brightly.
This photo is from a few years back when Patrick and Lisa danced together at the World Music Awards that Patrick hosted. It was the first time they'd danced together professionally on TV. Since then, they finally made their dance movie, "One Last Dance," that is a somewhat autobiographical story of their love of dance.
Every night I pray for God to bless the Swayzes as they battle this cancer. If anyone can beat it, it's Patrick. He's done so well. Regardless of whether or not you believe in God, please keep him in your thoughts. I, and he, too, also believe in positive thinking and good vibes.
Not quite ready for bed. Think I'll head back over to Cashcow for a few minutes. I really should be going through some papers, but that sandman is finally beginning to make sleep sound like a good idea.
Have a good one, folks! Later today, I'll be adding some info about the other websites and some tips for the gpt sites.
